OneDrive Sync Admin Configuration

For small businesses to large organizations, Dashboards are a single place to gather information and take action on application synchronization and system status. System Status Dashboard, OneDriveIt's a great feature for managers looking for a high-level view of how things are working for their teams.

What is OneDrive Sync Admin?

From the sync status dashboard, administrators can check the sync status and synchronize the app version of individual devices, monitor Known Folder Move deployment, and track sync errors.

OneDrive Sync Manager Reports allow you to monitor the status of OneDrive on all managed Windows devices. Usually, users ignore error messages from the OneDrive client and don't think much about it. However, this is exactly how data can be lost.

You can see all the information for users running OneDrive Sync. To resolve help requests, you can easily look up the person’s name and see how many sync errors there are, giving you a peek at the problem. To see details about the type of error, you can click on the user name to open the detail panel. Here, you can see what device they’re using and what build of the OneDrive Sync client they’re using. You can also see specific errors that are occurring on their device, such as issues with unsupported file and folder names.

At a glance at the details table, you can see other users with a large number of sync errors. You can click on any user’s name to see the exact errors. This is especially useful if you’re looking for ways to reduce sync errors across your organization to help improve OneDrive adoption. This way, you can reach out to groups of users who are experiencing similar errors to provide educational materials that can help them resolve sync errors and improve the user experience. You can also filter devices with sync errors to focus actions on taking down these unhealthy sync clients.
