Exchange Server: Event ID 9646: Mapi Session Exceeded the Maximum Objects

Exchange Server As administrators know, every object and every object has a limitation on the system. You may see a warning like the one below in the Application LOGs on Exchange Server or you may receive complaints from your users.

These complaints are usually about connection problems or improper synchronization. The information displayed in the Application LOGs is as follows;

Event ID: 9646

Description:
Mapi session /o=/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=user” with Client Type WebServices exceeded the maximum of 250 objects of type “objtMessage”.

This warning you have received occurs because an account on the Exchange Server has reached the limit of devices it can log into.

To resolve this issue, you need to make a Regedit change on all Exchange Servers in your environment.

Note: Do not forget to take a backup of regedit before making any changes to regedit.

First, we open Regedit.

The path we need to change is as follows;

MaxObjsPerMapiSession We need to create a new key named .

MaxObjsPerMapiSession in it, new for each of the MAPI object types you want to increase DWORD (32 bit) We need to create values

Name= Name of the MAPI object type (objtMessage).

Value= maximum number of connections allowed for this type per user.

Type = DWORD (32 bits)

After doing this process, we will make changes to every server. Microsoft Exchange Information Store We need to restart the service.
